Good Intentions by KEPZONE Good Intentions by KEPZONE
9. Your Tokota crosses paths with an infant or child (animal or human) that is too young to remember where it came from or who it's parents are. Your Tokota must choose to either take mercy and care for and protect it until the parents can be located, or abandon it to nature.

---

The women in question aren't here to hurt the little girl at all, but they've yet to understand she's not in any danger.

(EDIT: Fixed a couple things that were bugging me, as usual.)

"uhhhh, question - the task was supposed to be about mercy or leaving the kid to nature, but that knife looks distinctly manmade??"

KEP said the Women dont intend to hurt the child so the Toko isn't really protecting the child from the women. The way i see it the Toko took mercy on the child and as it and the child continued on together they ran into a group of women who are misunderstanding the situation. you dont always have to be straight to the point with art, thats why i love KEPZONEs art it makes me automatically think up a story to go with the image.Love

Whoa I really love the composition of this <3 The lighting really pulls the eye to the little girl and the face of the tokota and then to the danger in front of them <3 very well done!

Just everything about your art is fantastic - I especially love the human faces / expressions you do, and the human anatomy in general!  just amazing! *o*  and the way you draw tokos, I mean really  just simply superb.

Man, your art kills me. The lighting, the colours the little details! I really love the silhouette in the foreground with the light shining off the knife. The expressions are amazing too ;o;

Thanks! I was at odds with how much to render out the figure up front. Glad you like it as-is!

The Toko's face is soo good in this one. I love how you've gotten across that shocked and torn expression! All of the human's expressions are equally as great, they all help set the mood for such a dramatic picture. The color and lighting on the whole picture is lovely, too! Especially the stark contrast between the reds and golds. <3

Thanks so much! I was worried that either this one was too desaturated, or not desaturated enough. (I still feel it could probably be pushed more one way or the other, but it was pretty difficult to convey one of those "temporary misunderstanding" moments, I found.)

Saturation is one of those really hard ones. :x I always hate trying to figure out what the perfect level of it works from picture to picture! But I honestly think the saturation works really works with this piece, myself. Especially in the lighting! <3

Thanks so much! And yeah, I getcha, bears are quite a bit different than your standard dog or wolf-like critter, mostly just given the plantigrade feet and overall bulk!

I'm always impressed with your works. You are a great inspiration! :heart:
I love how the focus is solely on their expressions, it's a really powerful tool to convey the mood and I can't keep myself from going back and stare at their faces xD

Your lighting, textures, and anatomy are absolutely amazing!! Not to mention you're able to express such a clear story with only expressions and body language ;O; One day I hope to be able to do that too~ ;v;

I've been planning some kinda tutorial about rendering/lighting/colors, but I keep kinda messing it up. (Plus, I'm hardly perfect and I keep learning new things, so there's that.) One day though, I'll finish it. One day!
